Christopher Blake Costello, a seasoned performer since age seven, keeps dance floors lively with his energetic EDM sets and live performance aspects. Starting in the San Francisco Bay Area, the chemist-turned-producer began his music journey in 2017 writing demo songs for his high school rock band, "Blake and the Chemists." After discovering psytrance in 2019, he developed a unique style blending the fast-paced rhythms, acidic hooks, and alien-like sound design, with his jazz and funk influences showcased in his EP "ECH."
Blake has trained with notable educators including piano and choir teachers, music schools like Blue Bear School of Music in San Francisco, and Icon Collective College of Music in Burbank, where he honed his skills in mixing, mastering, and songwriting. When he graduated Icon Collective at the end of 2023, Collaborating with Jennifer Jimenez and Christian Saldivar, their EP "In The End" was professionally mixed and distributed by Grammy-winning producer Dennis White under the label "House of Latroit."
His unique sound and energetic live performances have earned him recognition, including a remix contest win of Piri & Tommy’s “Lovergirl” in 2023, and he has built a dedicated following, particularly within the Furry Community. His performances at major conventions like "Further Confusion" in San Jose and his first out-of-state show at "DenFur" in Denver Colorado have granted him hundreds of followers on social media, while he has also played for smaller, underground events like the the "Secret Psychedelica" and "So Stoked!" events at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco.
Actively seeking promoters and collaborators, Blake's live acts feature singing, lyrical and synth-driven songs, and creative solos on his synthesizers, including his Roland AX Edge Keytar. As he continues to innovate in the psychedelic trance scene, exciting new projects are on the horizon for this musical chemist.
"Blake's music is all about the contrast between uplifting melodies and thoughtful lyrics, capturing the push and pull between what's happening around us and what we feel inside. From a production standpoint, Blake’s work stands out with its exceptional brightness and clean mix. The vocals are well-balanced amidst the other elements, showcasing a remarkable level of polish and professionalism."
-DJ Dain (Andrew Bowers) on "Alive at Nightime"
"I mean every word of this. Blake’s talent in composition and production are evident on first listen. He is in a league of his own. It’s a thing that needs to be earned with hard work and discipline, but equally… you and I could work as hard as he did and never get close to his sound. It’s a form of universal gift. Your day can only be improved by listening to his work."
