I started performing in an alternative Milan (Italy) at the age of sixteen, singing and playing 80s rock covers whilst taking singing and guitar lessons. My first influences were John Fogerty (CCR) and Sebastian Bach (Skid Row). After the diploma, I moved to the UK and began my career/studies at BIMM Brighton.
In 2015, I felt like the north of Italy was more into the style of music I wanted to pursue and so I decided to return from England. I shortly joined a new female metal band we called Killin' Baudelaire. I co-wrote the first EP and toured as singer + bassist until 2017.
The project and I were taking different directions, so I decided to leave. I started working on my own sound, first focusing on acoustic songwriting. In these times, singers like Sia and Lana del Rey and later Noah Sebastian, started to influence my music.
In 2017-18, I hosted a radio program at Uazzanane, Radiorizzonti in Blu, where I interviewed local alternative bands and artists.
In 2019, I worked as a PR and interpreter at Vocalmente festival in Fossano.
In late 2022, I finally went into the studio, producing my own music with Frank Altare.
In 2023, I formed a band which supports my live activity in the north Italian territory. So far, we played at Arci Tambourine (Seregno), Spank (Milano), TheBank (Monza) and Meneghino (Milano).
My third single You Go Fast came out in May 2024:
A captivating introductory riff results from a blend of synth and electric guitars. Powerful vocals with an unusual, non-operatic timbre, lead with originality to a liberating chorus with an appealing and singable hook. Charming, danceable guitar riffs alternate with dark gospel-like choirs. Modern synths accompany the coda up to a closure which resembles the lens of a camera closing. In a fast-paced and saturated world, "you go fast, you get the most, but you miss the best..". The video for this song is filmed and edited by Daniele Scarciello.
My second single Breaking Myself Mending You was released in May 2023.
A strong slow song talking about sacrifice. Musically, it is softer than Junkie but the distorted guitars and drums on the chorus create contrast with the delicate vocals and soft electronic sounds and arpeggios. The song strengthens up vocally towards the end, supporting the feeling of recovery of senses. It ends with a major piano chord which restores the calm.
In January 2023, my first single Junkie hit the alternative Italian radios.
It has been hosted in Italy on:, Prima Rete Dejavù, Music Box Agorà 21, Radio City Trieste, Alternote of MG Radio, Rebel Girl of Radio Onda d’Urto and on Radio Studio Verona.
It was accompanied by an interview on Uazzanane, Universal Web Radio and on Les Femmes Garage of Radio Garage.
It is on rotation in the UK on The Sound Lab. (www.thesoundlabuk.co.uk)
The song uses both the derogatory term “junkie” and the more accepted term “addict” to describe a classic situation of codependency. The abandonment of the source of dependence brings freedom and strength. With static rhythms, distorted guitars and synthetic sounds, this song wants to start a hybridization of styles, moving away from the term "musical genre" and moving towards free and inspired writing and production.
