"I Don't Care" is the first single from this Hobart based psych-grunge band debut album. The band has been gaining lots of attention and stage time in 2021, leading the band to open for Kingswood and gaining support from heaps of local bands legends. Lazer Baby, Mixo, Art School Bullies, Scholfield, Gas Thief, The Broken Girls Club, and Pearly Whites are the line up playing at Hudson Cartel's single release party!
A prolific band releasing their debut EP: "The Inside Man" in their formation years 2017 and another EP: "Atmosphere" in 2018 which brought them on tour across the Australian mainlands. Their music has been described as raw, moody, and dynamic.
With a couple EPs, and touring experience under their belt has brought them to play grand festivals in 2019, such as; Marion Bay's Falls Festival and MONA Music Festival. The band also built their reputation through opening for Australian music juggernauts such as: The Bennies, Luca Brasi, Hands Like Houses, A.Swayze & The Ghosts, Dead Letter Circus, The Gooch Palms, Tired Lion, The Bleeding Knees Club and the latest one Kingswood. On November the same year, they got Endorsed by Tasmanian local clothing brand legend Snake Gully Bandits.
Burns "Burnsie" Matthew, Simon McGuire and Matthew "Bicket" Bicket has been playing shows with an energetic stage presence at their core since their formation in 2017. Rez "Sheriff" Julio, joined the gang on lead guitar in January 2021, bringing in a different texture and sonic headroom into the mix.
Today the band is on Vandemonian Touring lists of artists on repertoire.

Tassie punks Hudson Cartel are pumping music out left, right, and centre; the bands latest EP will be out by the time you read this, and an album isn't far off. This second EP, Atmosphere, just six or so months after the last one (debut *The Inside Man). Frontman Matthew Burn may have this hands full in his day job as a social worker, but the now- trio are keen as a mustard.

HOBART post-hardcore band The Hudson Cartel are throwing a party this weekend to celebrate the release of their new EP. The Inside Man showcases The Hudson Cartel's diverse sound, which has been influenced by the likes of At The Drive In, Silverchair, Queens of the Stone Age, and Violent Soho. Recorded by Joe Haley at AAA Studios and mixed by Jake Long at Red Planet Studios, the five-track EP follows on from the groups's debut single Received, released earlier this year. The Hudson Cartel will launch The Inside Man with a gig in the Waratah Hotel laneway from 7pm on Saturday. They will be joined by Eddie and the Low Tides, Verticoli and KOWL. Tickets are $5 at the door.
