Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, JNino navigated the complexities of growing up with a visible disability, often feeling like an outsider in both societal and educational settings. Music became his refuge, offering solace and a means of self-expression. Influenced heavily by afrobeats and the vibrant culture of Nigeria, JNino's musical journey began with the discovery of Hip-Hop and R&B through music videos and the sharing of tracks via Bluetooth among friends and family.

Inspired by icons such as Lauryn Hill, OutKast, D’Angelo, Erykah Badu, and Mos Def, JNino developed a profound appreciation for the soulful sounds of "neo-soul" and its intricate rhythms. He was particularly drawn to the genre's fusion of "off beat/on beat" drums and its distinctive aesthetic. Today, JNino endeavors to merge his diverse musical influences, aiming to create a "free genre-less experience" that transcends conventional boundaries.

Expanding his musical horizons, JNino is actively honing his skills on the piano and guitar while also venturing into music production. His journey reflects a deep commitment to musical exploration and a determination to craft immersive, boundary-pushing compositions.

Awoken is JNino's debut EP, set to release on February 28th 2025. This project marks a significant milestone in the artist's journey, showcasing his unique sound that blends elements of alternative R&B and neo-soul with the rich cultural influences of his Nigerian roots. The EP explores themes of personal growth, love, and the power of manifestation, inviting listeners into an intimate auditory experience.

With singles like "Manifest Me (Remix)" featuring Winny, released on August 30, 2024, and "Sweet Romance," which dropped on June 25, 2024, Awoken has already begun to resonate with fans across Lagos, Nairobi, and beyond. JNino's heartfelt storytelling and innovative production have captured attention, making him a rising voice in the music scene.

To promote Awoken, JNino plans to release visualizers for each track, alongside marketing efforts that include engaging social media campaigns and targeted blog placements. The highlight of the promotional campaign will be a live show on December 18, 2024, in Lagos, where JNino will perform the entire EP, accompanied by notable artists Tayo Creed, C Extreme, and NakelTBG.
