• Portrayal of Ruinn

    Biography

A five piece Deathcore outfit from Manchester, UK. The main sound we provide is deathcore, but our aim is to add other influences into our music. We provide the breakdowns, the blastbeats, and the high/low screams you expect, but we also have strong groove influences as well as some black metal riffs.

Winners of the Manchester M2TM 2022, which provided us the opportunity to play Bloodstock Festival on the New Blood stage. Since then we have started to play more shows and join the lineups of festivals around the country.

Portrayal of Ruinn are currently writing some new material (Sept 2024) and taking a break from live shows. We will be returning...

"Following that we have local legends PORTRAYAL OF RUINN who stormed last year’s M2TM to represent Manchester at Bloodstock showing us their impeccable deathcore chops. With the crowd going absolutely wild once again these guys show why they are one of the rising stars of the Manchester scene."

"Winners of the incredibly tough Manchester M2TM’s Portrayal of Ruinn, managed to generate a huge vibe long before they’d took the stage. With huge shouts for the band starting almost the second the previous band had finished, and continuing throughout the set up. They didn’t disappoint, with a commanding performance of melodic deathcore, they had absolutely rammed New Blood tent eating out of the palm of their hands. Ballroom Mosh pits, walls of death, and a huge party atmosphere, this was a highly charismatic performance. Judging by the number of T-shirts on display they are definitely one to look out for."

"A melodic deathcore band from Manchester way, Portrayal of Ruinn isn’t quite my thing on paper, but fucking awesome live. Possibly the most energetic band on stage at Pentre Fest all day, their combination of gutsy, nasty metal and bouncy, yet ferocious vocals proved a winner. They also know how to pace their set brilliantly – a few mellow sections lull the crowd into a comfy security blanket, only to have it ripped maliciously away. It’s the audio equivalent of a Video Nasty psycho killer – you’re never safe, Portrayal of Ruinn will never stop – and they will get you in the end!"

"Portrayal of Ruinn (2 "n"s - most important). I Have followed these guys for about 12 months and they have upped the game each time I've seen them. A five-piece melodic deathcore band from Manchester, they storm the stage and take it over continuing the intense adrenaline rush we've experienced tonight. To very tight drums, bass, and rhythm you add screaming leads and the on-point growls from frontman Calvin. The highlight of the set must have been when he asked for a wall of death and got it."
