Taye the Truth is a lyricist from Roanoke, Virginia, immersed in music from an early age, influenced by his uncle—a producer—and his brothers, who created music with other kids in their neighborhood. Drawing from decades of hip hop culture, Taye’s uplifting and relatable songs resonate with diverse audiences, helping him establish a strong brand locally.
Since launching his music career in 2020, he has focused on growth as a performer and creator, securing numerous local performances and shows in several states. Taye received Roanoke's Art Matters grant in 2022, a year recognized as the "Year of the Artist," and was honored in Roanoker Magazine's 40 Under 40 class of 2023. Taye is dedicated to building Roanoke's hip-hop culture through collaboration and persistence. He strives to inspire his community through music, encouraging self-expression, and hopes to see hip hop culture in Roanoke flourish for years to come.
