    The Former Knights

    Started

with the singer and songwriter John Knight in the oceanside town of Ocean City, New Jersey. After frustration with working with other musicians grew to a point where he couldn’t stand it anymore, he set off to make his own band, write and record his own music, and release it all by himself.
From Garage Punk and Ska roots was born a straight forward Rock Band. No frills, no keyboards. John, a singer who wasn’t reeeeaaalllly a singer, put his head down and got to work. Months and months of finally treating the voice like an instrument you must diligently practice yielded something he thought he better let others hear. But self doubt made him keep it to himself.
A year later, now living just outside New York City, the music, the songwriting, the lyric writing, and the voice all came together to be something John could actually be (semi) proud of. Each release he gets a little better at mixing, a little better at singing, and a little better at evoking emotion from an audience. Music makes him happy. It might be the only thing this sober little prick actually enjoys.
Thanks for reading. If this sounded pretentious to you, you’re probably right. I’m pretty sure anytime someone writes about themselves in the third person, it gets out there, ego centric, and it gets there quickly.
