Amanda & The Afterthoughts is a project led by singer Amanda Ray Wright.

With a bass guitar and a belting voice that sounds bigger than she is, Wright reimagines classic rock, country, and blues songs, stripping away all but the essentials.

She leaves the details to a rotating band of collaborators known as The Afterthoughts, a loose collective of players whose individual styles and chemistry with Wright give the project its fluid, lived-in sound. Frequent partners include folk rocker Trey Castillo, bluegrass picker Danny Gussman, blues guitarist James MacFadzean, and Denton legend Bone Doggie. The band adapts to the room and the occasion: available as a duo or trio, Amanda & The Afterthoughts bring the same essential quality to an intimate listening room as they do to a full bar stage.
