Bio

Andrew Leonard (they/he) is a queer, multi-hyphenate performer, songwriter, and music educator based in New York City. Over the past five years, Andrew has been lighting up stages across NYC and beyond with their signature blend of disco, house, and soulful pop — music that radiates authenticity, empowerment, and joy.

This past summer, Andrew released the Pride anthem “Force of Nature” through So Fierce Music Co., earning praise and attention for its powerful vocals and infectious energy. Their brand-new single, “MAGIC,” released on September 26th, is already being hailed as a “true bop” — a shimmering celebration of queer power and self-expression.

Andrew’s music has also caught the ear of industry heavyweights, including The Blessed Madonna, who described their track “Euphoria” as a “stunning record” during its BBC Radio debut.

As a performer, Andrew has graced some of New York’s most iconic venues, including Feinstein’s 54 Below, Carnegie Hall, 3 Dollar Bill, The Sultan Room, Elsewhere, NYU Skirball Center, The Stonewall Inn, Club Cumming, Turks Inn/The Sultan Room, and The Red Pavilion among many others. For the past decade, they have also served as a featured soloist with the First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn’s Gospel Choir, where their voice continues to move and inspire.

In a review of their solo music, Recommended Listen described Andrew’s sound as a “quasi-religious summons of disco soul” — an apt reflection of their ability to channel both spirit and groove. Their music is available on all streaming platforms under Andrew Leonard.

Beyond the stage, Andrew is the Director of Vocal Music and Theatre Managing Director at Grace Church School’s High School Division in Greenwich Village. They hold a B.M. in Vocal Performance/Musical Theatre from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music.
