Based in Liverpool, UK, ARCHAEA formed in 2021 during the throes of a global pandemic and emerged onto the live music scene in 2024. 

The exhilarating blend of hard rock and metal into a genre-defying sound has pitched them as one of the most exciting new acts to emerge from the UK’s Northwest music scene. Drawing inspiration from bands such as Metallica, Stone Sour, Avenged Sevenfold, and more, this ensemble promises to deliver both visual & auditory pleasure.

With catchy guitar riffs, driving drumbeats, and charged lyrics, along with their energetic live performances, the ARCHAEA fanbase waits with great intrigue and anticipation for what comes next after the release of their debut EP, "Burn".

With ‘The Moore Metal Show’ granting them the accolade of ‘Best Live Band’, an appearance at Bloodstock Festival 2026, and an open road ahead of them, this is a deadly concoction of great things to come.

ARCHAEA appear onstage with a unified aesthetic that screams confidence - bold looks, sharp silhouettes, the kind of visual cohesion that tells you they’ve actually thought about how they want to present themselves. And then the vocals hit, and everything elevates. There’s real character in Dave Morgan’s voice, emotive punch wrapped in swaggering bravado. It’s the kind of vocal presence that doesn’t just front a band; it defines it.

Their set is pure bombast - high‑tempo, high‑octane melodic metal, the sort of thing you could drop straight into a WWE pay‑per‑view without changing a note. Big rhythms, big choruses, big energy. There’s a hint of Mötley Crüe in the attitude, though without the gratuitous shredding; instead, ARCHAEA focus on cohesion, on driving the whole machine forward as one unstoppable unit. The rhythm section keeps everything tight and propulsive, while the guitars carve out hooks rather than indulgent solos.

They look like a band. They sound like a band. And crucially, they feel like a band who could walk onto a much bigger stage tomorrow and not flinch. In a competition where identity matters as much as ability, ARCHAEA arrive fully formed.

ARCHAEA delivered a set that fused technical precision with emotional weight.

Their musicianship is razor sharp. Their tight rhythms and intricate riffs are perfectly complemented by vocals that cut through the mix with authority.

They play like a band with something to prove, and they proved it with confidence that never tipped over into arrogance.

ARCHAEA could walk onto a Bloodstock stage tomorrow and look right at home, and I think this is why they emerged victorious.

Emma’s view as a first-timer

Liverpool’s Archaea took to the New Blood tent to prove exactly why they earned their spot on the festival lineup. Hitting the stage with a punchy, high-octane set, the five-piece band delivered a heavy rock set, pulling in a sizeable, enthusiastic crowd.

The band’s energy was contagious, resonating particularly well with a surprisingly mixed demographic that leaned more toward a passionate, younger crowd. Frontman Dave Morgan’s scream work was an absolute standout – raw, powerful, and effortlessly impressing the tent. If this performance was any indicator, Archaea aren’t just a band to watch; they’re a force rapidly carving out their space on the bigger stage.

“The full band flex comes through in the way each instrumental steals its moment, whether it’s the swagger in the riffs, the rhythm that feels strangely aphrodisiacal, or the intricately breath-stealing bursts that hit without telegraphing themselves. Their technical chops cut exactly where they mean to, and the centre of it all sits a voice that feels ready to tear its way out of the underground entirely. The Merseyside quintet play a brand of classic metal that drew at least one whispered comparison in the audience to Trivium – be that as it may (and I’m no expert on the various metal sub-genres) but the overriding impression is of a band who take their craft seriously, who write songs that stand out as individual entities rather than congealing into a lumpen, generic mass and who have a polish and a sheen that elevates them head-and-shoulders above most of their peers on the underground metal scene.
