About

Cici Chen is an Edinburgh-based multilingual singer-songwriter originally from Shenzhen, China. Drifting between indie folk and pop, her music traces love, longing, and quiet becoming — like letters never sent, or a soft scream into the void.

With her sweet, mellow voice and a desire for acoustic arrangements, she leans into an organic, storytelling texture, creating a safe space where listeners can gently draw closer and immerse themselves in an intimate musical connection.

Her latest release To Someone I Loved was out on 20th March, and has been featured in 'Upload on the Arts Mix' on BBC Radio Scotland by Anna Welander and Len Pennie. It was also aired by SheBeat on The LOUD WOMEN Show, and by Jim Gellatly on Amazing Radio.

You can listen to her songs on all streaming platforms and purchase digital tracks on Bandcamp.

She’s currently working on her debut album What do I know about Love?, dissecting her experience in love through a series of folkie, indie, alternative pop songs.

Cici Chen has been featured in the inaugural monthly Hen Hoose X SNACK mag: Emerging Talent Spotlight, and has played at the Hidden Door Festival 2025, the St James Quarter Busker Session, and various other gigs and events at venues across Edinburgh including Leith Depot, The Wee Red Bar, The Outhouse, and People's Leisure Club.
