About delUnit

Emerging in 2026 from New York, United States, delUnit blends singer-songwriter influences with Soca into a genre-defying sound. Delmond Herbert, professionally known as delUnit, is a Trinidad-born Soca writer and singer currently based in the United States.

He began his musical journey at an early age as a DJ and later developed his songwriting skills in 2013. His exposure to and appreciation for multiple genres allowed him to grow quickly as a writer, leading to opportunities to collaborate with established writers and producers. Notably, delUnit is a co-writer on GBM Nutron’s track “Scene.”

In 2021, delUnit released his Soca track “My Invention” on the Uber Riddim, produced by Motto and written by delUnit, accompanied by visuals. In 2022, he released “Watching Mehh” on the Seaside Riddim, produced by Littleboy and written by delUnit, supported by a music video for the Carnival 2023 season. In 2023, he followed with “Alcohol Stars” on the Free Drinks Riddim, produced by Dungeon Studios, for the Carnival 2024 season.

For Carnival 2026, delUnit returns with “The Good Life,” an uplifting Soca release written and produced by delUnit & Okay Pronto. Created to celebrate the spirit of Trinidad and Tobago Carnival, the track blends vibrant rhythms with a feel-good vibe that captures joy, freedom, movement, and positivity.

delUnit continues to promote his love for Soca music while contributing meaningfully to the culture.
