Irish indie via Berlin
Built on the bones of an Irish housing crisis, international love, and wanderlust, DIRTBIRD is slowly becoming the best band in Berlin that you have yet to meet. Infused with a mix of post-punk, electronica, and hip-hop, these four lads are creating a sound that is constantly evolving.
Influences range from the biting indie sleaze sounds of The Strokes, Interpol, and Arctic Monkeys, to the 80s-inspired melodies of New Order, The Smiths, and Talking Heads (all of this channelled through a distinctly Irish filter).
Armed with a full set of original material, they are ready to carve out their place at the heart of Berlin's live music scene. At their shows, you can expect to see a performance that is confrontational, compelling, energetic, and loud.
They may be built on the bones of a shared past, but they are making their own future.
Their debut single, High Horse, is the first release from their live studio EP, Going to the Dogs, arriving on 24 July.
