Gennel Roe

Gennel Roe, whose birth name is Candice Roberts, is a dynamic singer/songwriter hailing from Trincity, Trinidad & Tobago. With an innate passion for creative expression, Gennel Roe's artistic journey began at Sacred Heart Girls' R.C. Primary School, where she honed her skills in Latin, Ballroom, and African dance as part of a cultural group. Her formative years also saw her actively engaged in the 4-H club, Steelpan, Choral Speaking, and Student Council, consistently gravitating towards activities that fueled her self-expression. She furthered her education at St. James Secondary School and St. Joseph’s Convent, St. Joseph, before pursuing Psychology at UWI Open Campus and UWI St. Augustine, where she discovered a deep-seated desire to help others and understand human behavior.

Gennel Roe's musical talent blossomed at the tender age of 17, as she began writing and recording original music, including her initial Soca tracks produced by KG of Reality Records, "On D Road" and "Get Loose". In 2017 she won the TTEC power monarch with her self-composed groovy soca “Bodyguard”. While music is her primary focus, she also possesses a natural flair for fashion design and is determined to establish her presence in the fashion industry. Her collaboration with "The Ground Up" culminated in the official release of her debut EP, "Shades," which included the songs "Stay Up," "Ready," “Momma” and "Riptide." She is currently working on new material with Playah Syndicate Records.

Gennel Roe's artistic drive stems from her profound belief in music's transformative power—its ability to shift moods, touch hearts, and tell universal stories that resonate with people from all walks of life. Looking ahead, Gennel Roe envisions a full-time music career within the next three years, alongside the launch of her own corporate clothing line and an online podcast dedicated to addressing contemporary issues faced by humanity and inspire to be driven by purpose.

Beyond her artistic endeavors, Gennel Roe is driven by a deep desire to be a role model for her son, imparting wisdom, leadership qualities, and a zest for life. Her long-term aspirations include becoming a highly acclaimed and influential artist, recognized for her distinctive style, beauty, and holistic world view, transcending the confines of any single musical genre or artistic field. Gennel Roe lives by the principles of motivating others, exuding confidence, maintaining authenticity, and unwavering faith in all her pursuits.
