Although having strong Crockett, Texas roots Downsouthbabyy was raised in north Houston, Texas in the Greenspoint District (Guns Point). Down South is a southern artist that brings a lot to the table with his rapping, & singing vocals. He brings a fresh new sound & form of entertainment to the music industry. His unique sound is a blend of Ghetto Gospel, Pop & Therapeutic Rhyming! He has been labeled cunning by peers and some executives after making a name for himself as an Independent CEO Artist. Founding Label “Goldmember Entertainment” at only 19 years of age in 2014 his resilience prevails. Goldmember Entertainment was created with the notion of not being accepted by his local music market and labels so he made his own lane! He encourages people to be themselves, no matter where they come from or what they’ve gone through! South’s music is for all demographics, it's for anyone who ever felt they weren't good enough, & for those who felt they were never accepted. Downsouthbabyy gains his inspiration from Industry legends and moguls such as Trae Tha Truth, J-Dawg, T.I, Rick Ross, and Jay-Z. A true hustler in every form, the son of a former King Pin who spent most of Down South’s life incarcerated, he strived to represent something positive and purposeful. Being Downsouthbabyy has been rhyming since he could walk it's no surprise he chose the music route!

Down South has performed at Houston’s annual Trae Day Festival yearly since 2019 excluding covid 2020. He has also performed & headlined for crowds with more than 50,000 people in attendance at music festivals and college homecoming events. Downsouthbabyy has connected and inspired individuals from all walks of life from Houston to Miami, New York, New Jersey, La and the list of cities/states go on.
