Emerging in 2008 from Vancouver , Canada, Kayo Lyon blends rnb, reggae, dancehall, afrobeat, reggaeton, singer songwriter and soul into a genre-defying sound.
Kayo Lyon (formerly known as Mr. Fantastik) is a Ghanaian-Canadian artist, composer, and humanitarian celebrated for his vibrant fusion of Reggae, Dancehall, Afrobeats and the only artist who blend music and acrobatics tricks on his live stage performance. Born Jeffrey Wood in Cape Coast, Ghana, and now based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Kayo creates music that uplifts and unites, carrying messages of love, resilience, and social change.
Rooted in Ghana’s rich musical traditions, Kayo’s journey began after finding peace and guidance at the Little Ashram in Tarkwa, where yoga and meditation shaped his outlook on life. His artistic path flourished through the renowned Centre for national cultural learning and talent development group in Ghana known as "AGRO", inspiring his lifelong devotion to rhythm and community.
Kayo’s acclaimed works including Akumapa, Love Eyes, We Rise, Kaboom, New Soul, and Real Warrior, have earned him international recognition. His viral hit “Tease Me” won the CMA10 Award for Best Dancehall Song of the Year and International Artist of the Year.
As founder of the Resilience Root Life Band, Kayo also leads drumming And dancing African Cultural Workshops across North America, promoting cross-cultural understanding and youth empowerment. Guided by his belief that “the life you live is the energy you project,” Kayo Lyon continues to inspire global audiences through music, culture, and compassion.
