Emerging self-taught multi-instrumentalist Kelly Cresswell hails from Widnes in North-West England. She is a folk / soul influenced singer songwriter with a candid introspective songwriting style. With authentic heartfelt lyrics and melodic acoustic-leaning tracks based on personal life experiences and her observations of the world, her sound blends gentle folk elements with some interesting pop touches

Her compositions often cross musical genres, and her distinct narrative writing style and unique vocal delivery have helped her to amass a devoted following over the last five years. With songs touching on themes of personal resilience, self-discovery and sentimentality, Kelly’s music has mass appeal and always leaves a lasting impression on listeners, receiving airplay all over the world via the independent and internet radio stations that support her

Taking up music and songwriting later in life provided Kelly with a multitude of life experiences that have enabled her to write music that people can feel connected to. She also lives with a complex chronic pain disorder and openly shares online about how she utilises music to help her to cope with the physical and emotional load that comes hand in hand with living in constant pain. By doing so she aims to provide hope and inspiration to her listeners

Kelly released her debut album ‘Under The Stairs’ on Bandcamp on 20th March 2026 – a solid body of work that she is extremely proud of. With eight outstanding tracks, the album builds upon her past discography, providing listeners with an insight into the myriad of life experiences that have helped to shape her a person over the last few years. Recorded and produced by David Gorst (Alibi Productions) in her hometown of Widnes, the album features musical collaborations with her son Owen Cresswell (bass guitar) and her good friend Si Owens (piano)

Under The Stairs showcases Kelly’s thought provoking songwriting and impeccable vocals to their absolute best and is sure to be enjoyed by those who follow and support her music. Its physical distribution has been supported by East London Records, a small indie music label run by independent artists for independent artists. The album is available in both digital and CD format via Kelly’s Bandcamp site and on vinyl via Elastic Stage
