About
Hi, I'm Nikki Wakaba, an Afro-fusion artist from Nairobi, Kenya.
I've always loved music, but I never wanted to be put in one box. I grew up singing, trained in classical music and opera and somewhere along the way fell in love with Afro-R&B, Afro-dancehall, Afro house, amapiano, and pop. Today, my music is a mix of all those influences.
Most of my songs start with a feeling or a moment I can't stop thinking about. Sometimes it's falling for someone, sometimes it's wondering what could have been, and sometimes it's learning to let go. I write the kind of songs I wish I had when I was trying to make sense of those emotions.
My debut single, On and On, is about wanting someone to choose love instead of giving up when things get difficult. It's honest, a little vulnerable, and made to be played with the windows down or on a late-night drive.
As an artist, I want every release to feel like another chapter of the same story. The music, the visuals, and the little details all connect because I'm inviting people into my world, one song at a time.
