Vuonna 2019 Uudellamaalla perustettu Petrolbreath yhdistää rockia ja hard rockia genrerajoja rikkovaksi soundiksi.

Petrolbreath on vuonna 2019 perustettu raskasta rockia soittava power trio. Yhtyeen musiikki on kitarariffi vetoista raskailla rummuilla varustettua hard/heavy rockia, missä on kuultavissa 80- ja 90-lukujen hard rock ja heavy bändien vaikutus.

Petrolbreath on voimatrio sanan perinteisessä ja totaalisessa merkityksessä. Toki You're With The Band -sinkku losautti jo äänekkään varoituslaukauksen ilmoille, vaan silti neljän biisin EP pääsi jotenkin taklaamaan kulman takaa.

Ykkössinkku ja sitä seurannut Carnal Rivals avaavat kiekon hurjalla voimalla, jälkimmäisen siivun ojentaessa mutkia herkullisella tavalla suoremmaksi. Eihän kolmikko mitään ihmeellisen uuttaa tee, mutta niin vain jalka hakee tahtia lattiasta ja biisi koukuttaa. Svengaavampi Going Down in Flames väläyttää leveää virnettä, sortumatta kuitenkaan puolivillaiseen hullutteluun. Tekstin hirtehisyyttä jokainen voi tulkita kuten parhaaksi kokee, mutta niin vain tämäkin siivu nappaa hanakasti korvasta kiinni. Ankkuriraita Hydrophobic sihtaa tykillään vieläkin korkeammalle radalle ja neljäs laukaus haiskahtaa hiukan yli karkaavalta, tosin jo silkasta kunnianhimosta pitää nostaa hattua. Bändin tapa yhdistää modernimpi action rock vanhaan kunnon Motörhead-mättöön kun tuottaa aina vähintäänkin osuman maalitolppaan.

Spread Your Wings And Die viljelee tummaa huumoria, mutta pysyy ns. hyvän maun puolella ja muistaa pitää fokuksen itse asiassa: eli rankan rupisessa raskasrokkailussa. Kyllä nämä siivet kantavat lastinsa.

Petrolbreath is a rock outfit from southern Finland, founded in 2019. Their fuel-scented music carries influences from the likes of Motörhead, Clutch, and The Hives.

The band’s discography includes the debut single "Lucifer’s Wings" released in 2021, and the early 2024 EP "Spread Your Wings and Die". In addition, the live set has recently been expanded with two new tracks recorded in February 2025. Band has recently been in the studio and some new songs will be out in the beginning of 2026.

Petrolbreath’s engine is always running hot – this trio’s explosive and high-volume rock’n’roll circus leaves no one cold!

*“Petrolbreath is a power trio in every traditional and total sense of the word. Sure, the single You're With The Band already fired a loud warning shot, but the four-track EP still managed to hit from out of nowhere.

Lead single and follow-up Carnal Rivals open the record with intense energy, the latter track straightening the curves with delicious simplicity. The trio isn’t reinventing the wheel, but they’ve got the groove – your foot starts tapping and the hooks grab you hard. The more swinging Going Down in Flames brings a wide grin without slipping into half-baked antics. The twisted humor in the lyrics is open to interpretation, but either way the track grabs you by the ears. Closing track Hydrophobic aims even higher, and while it teeters on the edge of excess, the ambition alone deserves praise. The band’s way of fusing modern action rock with good old Motörhead-style pounding consistently hits at least the post.

Spread Your Wings and Die blends dark humor with good taste, all while keeping its focus where it belongs – gritty, heavy rock’n’roll. These wings carry their weight.”*
