Rugireo (Pronounced ruh•jear•ee•oh) formerly known
as Matt Vanzetti is a hip hop artist, actor, director and

The New Jersey born artist started making music at thirteen years old after creating video content and skits with his friends at the time and ever since then he fell in love with rap and music as a whole. With a tumultuous home life with his parents going through a rough and volatile relationship he found refuge through music and art. Much of the time he spent locked
away editing fan made music videos, writing scripts and illustrating. He continued to write lyrics and perform into his formative years but didn’t begin to take music serious
until the age of 18 when he would meet the likes of Yung

The Earlier Years (Code Red ,Italian Made & Italian Made [Deluxe]) In February of 2019 he released an EP/Mixtape Code Red (currently only available Rocko at Blackcat Studios who would guide him in the right direction when recording as far as hitting the right notes and performing. Collaborating with mainly Delaware State based artists Matt Vanzetti (Rugireo’s name at the time of release) had collaborated on a song titled “Paperwork” with Boston based producer Maz whom in which was the main force to push Rugireo out of his comfort zone with the types of instrumentation he
would offer and send to him. On Code Red he would have production mostly done by himself with the project being oversaw and having a track titled “Blood” produced by Father Ciph (formerly Ciph Da Element) whom in which produced the Bobby Dimes classic “Out Delaware”. During this roll out Rugireo would then create the treatment, direct, act and even edit his own music
videos all amassing over thousands of views on platforms, and the singles hitting thousands of plays as well including “Blood” being played on the radio. In June of 2020 he would go on to release the biggest song of his career at the time “Ocean” featuring Aishah Iesha, this song on Spotify alone would amass
over 15,800+ streams and including other platforms would
total well over 20,000 listens leading to his most viewed music video and being played on radio as well this streak would continue as “Ocean” part of his first full project “Italian Made” when Italian Made was released in August of 2020 during the pandemic all eyes were on our screens and Rugireo took the opportunity. The Maz produced Album hit streaming and began to travel all over the world hitting the likes of Italy, Brazil, The United Kingdom and Africa, etc. Streaming numbers hit well over 125,000 on all platforms and propelled “Rugireo” into having a dedicated fan base from relatively unknown stature. Following up the success of ‘Italian Made” he then released the deluxe edition in June of 2021. The title track “Italian Made” would be the second largest release of his career with streams and views on the video and the track equaling over 17,000 listens. The creation of his music video
sparked the love to pursue acting as well, being in the movie such as The Come Up by Rellikiss in March of 2021, and further along being an extra in Powerbook II: Raising Kanan March of 2020. Directing music videos outside of his own including “OH!” by

The full mixtape “EGO TALK” by Rugireo & Maz would release June of 2023 and would serve as the precursor to Rugireo’s next project and name change (from Matt Vanzetti to Rugireo). Performances that are emotionally driven with character opposed to technically proficient. His rhymes come with a tenacity and technical proficiency that have reached a fever pitch at his age of 25. Releasing a collaboration album with signed producer “lilith” including his most raw and emotionally transparent tracks to date, detailing death of loved ones, suicidal ideations and loss of love. Rugireo continues to bring a unique perspective with emotionally transparent tracks in an upbeat soundscape with ear worm choruses coupled with wordplay heavy lyricism. His latest single release "MOMMA'S BOY" brings a new era to Rugireo as he showcases his west coast influence as a precursor to the EP with the same name, featuring Shady Records Artist WESTSIDE BOOGIE, which has been cosigned and done work with artists like Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Smino and JID. Rugireo which shows his talents outside of hip hop on this upcoming project with a singer/songwriter song, and even a pop song on the EP.
