About us

SQUIRE, Are an upcoming 5 piece Alternative/Indie Rock band. Coming from the vibrant and creative streets of Waterford, SQUIRE brings their raw energy with adrenaline filled lyrics to form their fast paced, off the walls sound. With their playful group dynamic and infectious melodies, they captivate audiences with each electrifying song and performance.

Drawing inspiration from Waterford’s rich musical heritage, and following after many local bands in the city they look up to, with a bit of their own personal experiences to write their music. SQUIRE’s music resonates with authenticity and passion, their music reflects the highs and lows of life. SQUIRE effortlessly blends elements of new wave, funk rock and alternative indie to craft a sound that is uniquely, them.

What we’ve done

SQUIRES career in their 2 years of live performance and creating music has taken them to all new walks of life they never would have expected to be lead down. From playing a main city stage in their home town during the bustling Spraoi Summer Festival, amounting to well over 400 onlookers, to playing with MCD signed bands Criothe, BABYRAT and Anomoiyeah in Bank Lane. The band are soon to play Dublins esteemed “Based Festival” a youth music festival held in The Button Factory. But that’s not all.

In terms of music. SQUIRE hit the ground running with their first single “Breakneck” which released on 31st January 2025 and had amassed over 15,000 streams on Spotify as of January 2026. Late last year the band released their debut 5 track EP,”Inverting Normality” on December 12 2025. Which has collectively reach over 20,000 views as of early 2026

With this band of teenagers one thing I’ll always be certain. Whatever SQUIREs musical career holds for their future, they will make sure to do it loud.

Our Plans

By the summer of (if not the end of) 2026 we plan to have recorded and released our debut album “Urban Symphony” a 14 track album featuring pre-released hits such as “Breakneck” and “Mrs Moonlight” and completely new tracks such as “Road Rage Rhapsody” and the albums title track “Urban Symphony” (see dedicated section)
