The Shondas

Emerging from Louisville, Kentucky's fertile music scene The Shondas blend rock, indie, alternative, garage, americana, and folk into a singular, genre-defying sound.

We've been a band for close to three years. In that time we’ve performed at many top venues including: The Enchanted Forest, The Mellwood Tavern, The High Horse, The Old Louisville Brewery and The Air Devil’s Inn. We love to play live, and have enough material for at least two generous sets.

Our debut record received a rave review from Jeff Polk, writing for the "Louisville Eccentric Observer." Here is an excerpt from his review: "The Shondas have a knack for writing catchy, hook-filled, guitar-driven melodies that are easy to get lost in. Comparisons to Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, The Grateful Dead, Elvis Costello, Buddy Holly, My Morning Jacket, and REM are certainly not unfounded. These are great rock songs with excellent pop sensibilities."

Beloved singer-songwriter Dan Bern described out music more succinctly: "Very nice. Rock with teeth!"

In addition to our crowd-pleasing originals and we also play beloved covers. Artists we’ve covered include: Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Mazzy Star, Townes Van Zandt, Depeche Mode, The Velvet Underground, and The Grateful Dead.

Our members include: David Serchuk (guitars and vocals), Aaron Selbig (bass) and Marcy Ziegler (vocals). Together these musicians have performed in and around the Louisville area for the past decade and have been or currently are members of bands including: The Lost Pockets, The Light Fantastic, The Just Jerry Band, Grackle and The Otter Kings.

In short, The Shondas are a professional, polished unit that comes ready to play, and always delivers, either live or on record. We look forward to sharing it all with you.
