Tony B. Dickerson, also known as Barnshaw, is a two-time Grammy-considered recording artist, accomplished songwriter, dynamic bandleader, and inspirational performer whose music blends gospel, soul, R&B, and funk into a powerful, uplifting sound.
Influenced and mentored within a musical legacy connected to icons such as Andraé Crouch and Earth, Wind & Fire, Tony has built a career rooted in excellence, authenticity, and service. His songwriting credits include the Tennessee Mass Choir anthem “The Greatest of All Time,” while his acclaimed single, “The Song Within,” showcases his gift for creating music that inspires audiences across generations.
Tony’s extensive professional journey includes performing with the legendary O’Landa Draper & The Associates, serving as a U.S. Navy musician, leading worship, and directing Tony B. Dickerson & The Essential Band. A voting member of the Recording Academy, he brings seasoned musicianship, magnetic stage presence, and an unwavering commitment to artistic excellence to every performance.
Beyond the stage, Tony is a respected educator, mentor, and arts advocate. Through Barnshaw’s School of Piano/Voice and The Songwriters Group International, he develops emerging talent and champions songwriters worldwide.
