About Ula (Uleezy, The Ulanator)
Emerging in 2021 from San Diego, California, United States, Ula (Uleezy, The Ulanator) blends Underground hip hop, Rap, Video Game samples, Funk, Jazz, RnB and G Funk all into a genre-defying sound.
Ula (Uleezy, The Ulanator) is a Rapper/Singer/Composer/Producer hailing out of San Diego, California. His sound is a fusion of Underground Hip-Hop, G Funk, Glitch Hop and more.
Ula is associated with San Diego collective Winner's Circle as well as affiliated with music groups 52 Crowns, RoseGang, Wxrst Gen and more.
Music runs deep in Ula’s bloodline. His father, Dickson Ula, is a veteran bass player from San Diego’s legendary funk band Devotion (Dev'ocean), known for his work with funk that first made waves in the 1970s and for performing as part of the San Diego Chargers Timeout Band. That foundation of rhythm, soul, and live musicianship set the stage for the next generation.
Ula’s older brother, Young Sau, carried the torch forward as a rapper signed to Heaterville Records, establishing himself with sharp lyricism and street-driven authenticity. Alongside him was Mike Ula—the first “Ula”—who collaborated on multiple tracks with Young Sau and helped shape the early sound of their circle.
Today, Ula (aka Uleezy) continues the family tradition, taking the name forward in his own way.
